Product Overview
This 4-pin flame detection module is designed for high-sensitivity fire detection in the near-infrared spectrum (760-1100 nm). Its adjustable sensitivity and digital output make it an ideal choice for early warning systems.
Key Features & Specifications
- Spectral Sensitivity: Detects flame and light sources within the near-infrared range of 760 nm to 1100 nm.
- Detection Performance:
- Typical Range: Up to 80 cm from a standard lighter flame. Detection distance increases with flame size.
- Field of View: Approx. 60-degree detection cone, highly sensitive to flame spectrum.
- Provides a clean digital switch output (High/Low, 0/1) via an onboard LM393 comparator.
- Features strong drive capability (>15 mA).
- Sensitivity is easily adjustable via a blue digital potentiometer.
- Includes a mounting hole for easy installation.
- Module PCB Size: 3.2 cm x 1.4 cm (1.26" x 0.55").
- Electrical Specifications:
- Operating Voltage: 3.3V – 5V DC.
- Interface: TTL-level Digital Output (DO).
Application & Usage Instructions
- Purpose: Primarily used for fire alarm systems. It is most sensitive to flames but will also respond to bright ordinary light sources.
- Connection: The DO pin can be directly connected to a microcontroller's digital I/O pin.
- Installation Caution: Maintain a safe distance between the sensor and high-temperature flames to prevent damage. The recommended minimum test distance is 80 cm from a lighter flame.
